November 2013: USC and Turkey

Saturday November 16, 2013

University of Southern California vs Leland Stanford Junior University

USC started the football season with mixed results and Haden finally fired Kiffen to the delight of the alumni. Coach Orgeron took over and was getting us back on track.  This was a big game and ESPN was doing Game Day from the campus.  In the past they has always done it at the Coliseum which is really just across the street past the museums.

We drove up early to Connie and Russ's house then headed to Los Angeles.  We arrived early and walked on campus then had lunch at the Founder's Club in the Galen Center.  We got a lot of free USC stuff at the various sponsor's booths.  Can never have enough USC stuff!

The game started at 5 pm so it was cold for us Southern Californians.  We are not use to the cold weather that grips most of our nation in the winter.

Luke and Sawyer, already Trojan fans.

Thanks to my connections were were in the top row.  I liked it.  I could stand all game and the seats were actually great to see the plays open on the field.  Bridget bought me that hat last Christmas and she made the scarves a few years ago.

USC beats #4 Stanford 20-17.    Then something happened that has never been seen at USC.

We stormed the field after the game.  Pure joy!  USC is back, almost.  We stumbled this year against Neuter Dame and Fucla but certainly not what the NCAA was hoping when they put the sanctions on us.  Too bad the NCAA doesn't apply their sanctions equally, but we showed them!

My new favorite shirt bought today.

We stopped at IHOP on the way back to Connie and Russ's house for a late night celebration.

Good times.

Thursday November 28, 2013 Thanksgiving Day

Bridget and I were invited to Connie and Russ's house for Thanksgiving Dinner.  Of course Christine and Betsy were there.

We had such a great time.  We had wonderful food and drinks all day.  We watched football of course. After dinner we had an excellent game night.  Too much fun.

                                            Ollie was there too!
                                              Excellent
Rusty is a much underrated chef.
